ABOUT:
My name is Erika Epperly (Eri for short), and I am a female artist. The theme of femininity is common throughout body of work. My floral paintings, often seen as self-portraits, blur the lines between realism and dreamlike abstraction, symbolizing my own journey through vital points in my life. Each painting is a product of growth or a moment of transformation, each one almost like a journal entry of my life experience.
Recently, I've ventured into new territory, exploring the intersection of video games and femininity. My "girlified" Call of Duty-inspired paintings offer a playful, cutesy twist on a traditionally masculine genre. As a gamer myself, I quickly noticed a lot of games I was playing were extremely male-dominated and lacked women representation. I wanted to create space for gamergirls like myself, so I take these games and give them a hyper-feminine twist.
